Farhad Massoudi is Founder & CEO at Tubi, a Cota Capital-backed company bought by Fox Corporation in 2020. Tubi was one of the first ad-supported video on-demand (AVOD) services when it launched and is the largest free on demand and streaming service in the United States.

In this exclusive interview with Bobby Yazdani, Cota Capital Co-Founder & Partner, Farhad recounts the challenges of running a startup with one foot in Hollywood and the other in Silicon Valley, and how his relationship with Cota helped see Tubi through from the initial investment to exit.

Tubi has a streaming library roughly 5 – 6x the size of Netflix’s, and the business is growing at an incredible speed. Building on this, Tubi anticipates doing approximately 60 original movies over the next year.
